A patent commercialization agreement was signed between Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU), Ondokuz Mayıs University Technology Transfer Office (OMU-TTO), and Tekpan Yapı for the execution of the project named "Lightweight Foam Concrete Thermal Insulation Plate and Block Wall Material with Fillers," which will make a significant contribution to the development of the region.

Rector Prof. Dr. Yavuz Ünal and Tekpan Yapı Manager Ali Sütcüoğlu signed the agreement at the ceremony held in Samsun Technopark.

Producing lightweight concrete blocks and slabs is planned with the signed patent commercialization agreement. In addition, it is aimed to carry out the issues related to the project's monitoring, evaluation, and financing without any problems.

Rector Ünal, who made evaluations at the contract ceremony, said, "It is precious that this environmentally friendly product created by science is presented for the benefit of humanity. This project can significantly improve building materials and contribute to the economic development of our region and our country, as well as to the quality of life of our people. The production of lightweight concrete blocks and slabs aims to bring a new breath and perspective to the construction materials sector while providing significant savings for construction companies."

Tekpan Yapı Manager Sütcüoğlu said, "Our companies, İzole Yapı and Berat Çivi, which have been operating in the field of building materials for more than 50 years, have joined forces under the name of Tekpan Yapı Malzemeleri, in cooperation with OMU and Teknopark. As two company partners who previously produced bricks, insulation materials, and nail wire in its region, we believed in this project. We believe we can create added value in the development process of such a product. The product has advantages that it will bring to the construction industry. We want to offer these advantages as a company. We would like to thank all TTO officials who contributed to the signing of the patent agreement".
