The 12th University Presentation Day, which is held every year by Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) and which has become a tradition, attracted great interest by high school students.
The 12th University Presentation Day activity in which all faculties, schools and institutes presented their departments to the high school students from Samsun and its provinces, and through which the students had the opportunity to obtain information about the departments was ornamented with various entertaining activities.
The stands in the open area in front of the OMU Life Center started to welcome high school students as of 10:00 a.m. With the school counselors, the students who visited all the faculties and the stands of the colleges were able to find answers to all their questions by experts.
Rector Prof. Sait Bilgiç and members of the Senate cut the ribbon for the opening of the activity. Rector Bilgiç stated: “Our future students, I salute all of you with love. I thank all of you for participating in the promotion days of our university we organized in order to make it easier for our students to make the right choices. One of the most important things that will make us happy in life is that we can make our job choices right. We aim to make contribution to your preferences by giving information about the professions and offering the right choices today. OMU is one of the most rooted universities completing its 42nd year. I can tell you that you will never regret choosing this university”.
After the speech, Rector Prof. Bilgiç and his accompaniments took information by walking the stands one by one and took a souvenir photo with student groups.
In the activity continuing until 3.30 p.m., the students had the opportunity to listen to the seminars entitled “How to be a university student?” and “How to make correct gradation for university selection?” by Assoc. Prof. Ayşenur Büyükgöze Kavas, and “ by Asst. Prof. Hatice Epli Koç “Let the exam be afraid of you”.
The radio of OMU Faculty of Communication, which broadcasted live throughout the day, interviewed with Rector. Prof. Bilgiç for a short time and took information about 12th Presentation Days.
12th University Presentation Day witnessed colorful scenes with the performances of the Faculty of Theology, Romani Orchestra, the Department of Music Education, Black Sea Music Community, Atakan Karadeniz’s Music Group and Folk Dances Group.
