Times Higher Education (THE) has published the first ever 2019 THE University Impact Rankings, THE’s pioneering initiative to recognise universities across the world for their social and economic impact, based on the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) has been ranked 201–300 in the overall 2019 THE University Impact Rankings.
In addition, Ondokuz Mayis University has been ranked in the following Sustainable Development Goal rankings:
• SDG 3: Good Health and Wellbeing / 101 – 200
• SDG 4: Quality Education / 201 – 300
• SDG 5: Gender Equality / 201 – 300
• SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth / 201+
• SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure / 201 –300
• SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities / 201+
• SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities / 101 – 200
• SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production / 201+
• SDG 13: Climate Action / 101 – 200
• SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions / 101 – 200
• SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals / 201 – 300
A total of 462 universities from 76 countries managed to be placed in the rankings. OMU placed 7th among the 19 Turkish universities that made it into the list, sharing the same segment with 6 other Turkish universities.
