Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) will be celebrating the herald of the coming of spring Nowruz Festival with various events and festivities. The festivities are also regarded as the official Nowruz celebration of the city of Samsun. The celebrations will begin with sapling planting in front of Rectorial Building. The events at the OMU Student Centre will be organized with the cooperation of Samsun Governorship and will include the Nowruz bonfire, concerts, singing, and poetry. In addition, there will be folk dances, various fun games, and gifts.

The Nowruz Festival activities will be open for everyone and Samsuners, university students, academicians, and the administrative staff are all invited to join the festivities
