In the Presidential Cabinet convened on August 19, 2021, it was decided that all grades would start face-to-face education as of September, employees, and students in educational institutions would be required proof of vaccination (vaccine certificate), and those who are not vaccinated would be requested PCR tests twice a week.

Regarding this decision, Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) has started to implement the decision to make most of the courses, laboratories, workshops, studios, midterm and end-of-term exams and all kinds of evaluation activities face to face, starting from the 2021-2022 Fall Semester.

In line with the decisions taken at the Presidential Cabinet Meeting and the Circular of the Ministry of Internal Affairs numbered E8978086515313441 and dated August 20, 2021, Ondokuz Mayıs University recommends that employees and students be vaccinated in addition to the current Covid-19 measures. However, PCR test inquiries will be made at all campuses for those who are not vaccinated and do not have evidence of Covid-19 vaccination. People are required to have taken a Covid-19 PCR Test with a negative result within 72 hours. A new test will be required after 72 hours. Those who prove that they have been vaccinated and have documentation of a negative PCR Test will benefit from the facilities on the campus and participate in academic programs and activities.

Everyone will need to keep wearing face masks on the campus, especially in classrooms, laboratories, workshops, studios, meeting and conference rooms. In order to follow up the risky cases, the control of HES codes by the university will be carried out meticulously as before.

It is important for the students, lecturers, and university staff on all our campuses to complete their Covid-19 vaccination as soon as possible, in terms of the health of themselves and those around them, as well as the successful continuation of the fight against the pandemic, and ensuring permanent and sustainable normalization.

Wishing you a healthy academic year,

Ondokuz Mayıs University Rectorate
